Toyota fully launches electric offensive: Introduces up to 16 concepts at once – Živé.sk

By 2030, the Japanese group plans to introduce 30 new electric cars and will gradually phase out internal combustion engines from the premium Lexus brand.

Toyota has electrification in its genes. We can easily call it the greatest pioneer of hybrid propulsion, but this carmaker has long avoided a purely battery product. Until recently, it changed the type of bZ4X developed together with Subaru. Toyota is currently launching a full electric offensive, according to a press conference.

Electric model in every market category

The plans for the Asian giant are truly grand, with plans to launch up to 30 new electric cars by 2030. Toyota has already sketched about half of this volume. During the presentation, she was shocked to present 16 concepts at once, with several bearing Lexus symbols. Such a mass presentation is unparalleled in the history of the automotive industry.

The range of vehicles discovered is very diverse and documents the manufacturer’s efforts to offer an electric model in every market category. Within the group we will find a sports coupe, a compact off-road, several different SUVs, a large pick-up and a dynamically shaped sedan. The range is complemented by small vans or a minibus that looks like a sci-fi movie.

Not all upcoming electric cars will be completely new. Some will be derived from existing vehicles, as seen in the familiar shapes of several studies presented. The Lexus RZ is probably the closest of them to production. It will stand on the same platform as the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra, the release of its serial version is expected soon.

Lexus will be purely electric in Europe in 2030

He and his daughter have radical plans for their daughter. It will gradually completely eliminate internal combustion engines from the premium brand, with which it will finally say goodbye in 2035. At the end of this decade, however, Lexus is to have a purely electric portfolio in China, Europe and North America.

Toyota has previously stated its ambition to sell two million electric cars by 2030. The updated target is 3.5 million vehicles. In addition, the carmaker is increasing its planned investments in battery technology. Originally announced the amount of 13.5 billion dollars (11.94 billion euros), now it talks about 18 billion in US currency (15.92 billion euros).
