Slovak firefighters have had a busy night, due to bad weather they had to intervene in dozens of cases. According to Katarína Križanová, a spokeswoman for the Presidium of the Fire and Rescue Corps, the number of firefighters’ departures increased significantly during the night.

“In connection with the weather situation, they intervened more than 152 times in 24 hours. They made the most trips in the Trnava region, where they were called to 61 events. In the Bratislava region their help was needed 40 times, in the Nitra region they intervened 15 times and in Trenčín counties have been sent to 14 events, “ stated.

Firefighters most often removed fallen trees from roads, parked vehicles and power lines. They were also sent to dozens of traffic accidents. More than 230 professional firefighters intervened during these events.
