TV SERIES – Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes return to the small screen for fans of Sex and the City as a real Christmas present.

The launch this Thursday, December 9 of And Just Like That –title given to the revival that takes place eleven years after the last film in the franchise and without the character of Samatha Jones– yet brought more tears than comfort to many viewers.

If the first episode entitled “Hello, It’s Me” begins by listing in all directions the societal evolutions in the city, but also personal or professional of the three heroines, when the story takes over it is to better destabilize the fans.

In the closing minutes of this introduction to the new chapter of the saga, the iconic Mr. Big character – real name John James Preston – has a heart attack after a workout on the stationary bike. And dies in the arms of Carrie, who finds him unconscious in the shower after returning from a party with his friends. “And that’s how Big died,” punctuates his wife in a voiceover before the second available episode looks at his funeral.

A turning point that some fans had considered by analyzing the photos of paparazzi taken at the various filming locations, but which had been denied by the director before the broadcast. A shock therefore for the viewers who followed the shooting with a magnifying glass as those who had not heard of this rumor, as you can see in the reactions below.

How will Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) handle this grief alongside Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon)? Eight other episodes, now broadcast every week on HBO Max in the United States and on Salto in France, will undoubtedly deepen the painful question.
