Marò case, Rome prosecutor asks for archiving

The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office asked for the investigation to be closed on the two marines Salvatore Girone and Massimiliano Latorre regarding the affair of the two fishermen shot dead in February 2012 off the coast of Kerala, India. In piazzale Clodio an investigation file for voluntary murder had been open since 2012, entrusted to the prosecutor Erminio Amelio. At the end of the investigations, the prosecutors of Rome, coordinated by the prosecutor Michele Prestipino, asked the investigating judge to dismiss the accusations as the framework of the evidence collected is insufficient to guarantee the establishment of a trial.
