The ninety-five-year-old queen only returned to her official duties after an almost one-month sick leave last Wednesday. On that day, she gave a personal audience to the outgoing head of the British Armed Forces, Nick Carter.

On Sunday, Elizabeth II. participated in the joint baptism of her great-grandchildren August and Lucas Philip, which took place in the Chapel of All Saints located in the park area near Windsor Castle.

The private ceremony took place on Sunday evening only in a small circle of members of the royal family and close friends. In addition to the queen, among them were the parents of both baptisms: Princess Eugenie of York and her husband Jack Brooksbank (parents of August Brooksbank), as well as Zara and Mike Tindall (parents of Lucas Philip Tindall).

According to the BBC, Prince Andrew and Prince William and his wife Catherine also attended the ceremony. On Saturday, the Queen of Britain commemorated for the first time the anniversary of her marriage without her late husband, Prince Philip, who died on April 9 at the age of 99.

On November 17, Elizabeth returned to her official duties after a month’s rest, which she took on the advice of her doctors. During this period, she had to withdraw her participation in several public events, most recently at a ceremony in honor of soldiers killed in the world wars, which took place on November 14. Buckingham Palace justified this with back pain at the time, which, according to the British media, was not the reason why the doctors recommended a rest to the queen.

In October, the queen spent the night in a private hospital in central London. Speculation about her health has also been exacerbated by the fact that she has canceled her planned participation in a climate summit held in Glasgow, Scotland, from 31 October to 13 November. She spoke to the assembled world leader only through a video message, while her son, Prince Charles, personally represented her at the event.

Buckingham Palace officials justified the Queen’s need to rest more in recent weeks with her hectic program since returning from a summer stay at Balmoral in Scotland. A few days before the hospitalization, journalists first captured Elizabeth using a walking stick.

During the rest of the week, the queen performed only some minor work duties, such as video meetings with ambassadors.
