BRATISLAVA. Slovakia will no longer avoid the catastrophic scenario with unavailable healthcare. Of the critical number of 3,200 covid patients, only 179 hospitalized patients shared the hospital on Monday morning.

After crossing this border, hospitals will stop preventive check-ups, planned operations and the provision of most health care except acute medicine.

The government will probably no longer avoid a nationwide lockdown, and according to experts, it can only decide what tough new measures will be and whether they will affect all or only the unvaccinated.

“We are unlikely to avoid a lockdown or more stringent measures in general. We will ask the government to declare a state of emergency that will allow the movement of both vaccinated and non-vaccinated people, regardless of the color of the district,” says epidemiologist Zuzana. Krištúfková, Member of the Advisory Board of the Minister of Health.

Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) also called the lockdown measures valid on Monday, which do not allow the unvaccinated to attend certain operations. However, the unvaccinated can still travel, visit, shop in clothing or footwear stores and go to work without restrictions.
