If you are looking for a electric car new, or even used, your favorite car salesman has surely praised you for the financing he offers, namely rental with option to purchase or long-term rental. To differentiate the two, nothing could be simpler: in both cases you “rent” your car for a period of time defined when signing the rental contract.

At the end of this contract, after 3, 4 or 5 years in general, with the LOA (rental with purchase option) you will have the choice between exercising the purchase option (previously defined when signing the contract) or to return the vehicle. While the LLD (long-term rental) does not include a purchase option at the end of the contract.

Within their communication campaign, manufacturers highlight sums that are at least attractive, based on rental contracts, or net prices already largely discounted and subject to the take-back of an old vehicle. Nevertheless, on closer inspection, multiple conditions must be respected… for a precise model. What sometimes leave empty-handed when the rent displayed in advertising goes from single to double if we do not meet all the right conditions.

Less than 300 euros for a 100% electric SUV, which is quite a success as we could see in our test : indeed, it is enticing.

What model of Skoda Enyaq is offered at a price of 299 € / month

This is basically posted on the Škoda website : Enyaq iV is available from € 299 / month. First problem, the model which illustrates this offer is not the model concerned by the offer. In scrolling a little further down, we discover that the beautiful Enyaq in the photo costs 386 € / month. Indeed, the offer at 299 € / month concerns a more or less entry-level model, less well equipped at the base and which does not necessarily benefit from the color or the most aesthetic rims. However, the model concerned is still delivered with 19-inch rims and the free color “Energy Blue” rather nice, far from the white usually offered by default.

But then, what do we have for this sum? A relatively well-equipped car, you see. As stated above, this is not really the entry-level model, since it is theEnyaq iV 60, a version of 179 horses equipped with a 58 kWh battery allowing an autonomy of 411 kilometers under the cycle WLTP.

In terms of equipment, the 60 version is rather well equipped with, as standard, 19-inch rims, Front Assist with warning and braking for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, lane-keeping assistance, regulated air conditioning. automatic bi-zone, the Digital Cockpit, full Matrix LED headlights or even standard navigation with media pack and Internet. If you want to add one or two options, you immediately exit the offer and the monthly payments go up.

What are the conditions to be eligible for the LLD offer of the Skoda Enyaq

This is a long-term rental offer on 37 months and 30,000 kilometers maximum. As the announcement explicitly mentions, a contribution of 9,500 euros is mandatory to take advantage of the 299 € / month. From this contribution, it will be necessary to deduct the ecological bonus maximum of 6000 euros eligible until June 30, 2022. As a result, the first contribution comes to 3,500 euros. Once is not customary, this offer is not subject to a condition of taking back an old vehicle. As a result, it opens up to a little more people.

To achieve this offer, Škoda adds 2300 euros of discount: a discount given without even having negotiated. Here, since we are on a well-locked offer, the dealer may not have enough leeway to negotiate with you. With your LLD, Škoda provides three years of maintenance, warranty and support. In other words, it covers the entire duration of your rental.

How much will the LLD offer of the Skoda Enyaq cost you?

A quick calculation allows us to realize that the offer is rather interesting, especially given the price / service ratio. Over three years of rental, with contribution, your Škoda Enyaq will cost you 14,264 euros with maintenance, warranty and assistance.

Škoda displays its Enyaq iV 60 from 41,960 euros on its site. You can already take away the discount of 2300 euros which seems immediately acquired and the bonus of 6000 euros, and you come across a car in 33,660 euros. Starting from this price, you will therefore pay, over three years, 42.4% of the price of your car. It is generally the discount of a new car over three years.

Here you won’t have to bother with reselling since the car will have to be returned after 37 months. However, be careful with the repair costs, which are always quite expensive at the time of return. We advise you to do it first at your usual bodybuilder, it will cost you much less.

What are the advantages of the LLD offer of the Skoda Enyaq

the price / quality ratio is one, if not the main advantage of this offer, with a rather well-equipped car, despite some pettiness such as the lack of a standard reversing camera, which is very practical for a vehicle of 4.65 meters of long. Apart from that, the powertrain is convincing and the autonomy passable: it will surely be necessary to count on less than 400 kilometers in real conditions, for a vehicle displayed at this price – especially on long journeys.

The Enyaq is also equipped with many rather welcome driving aids, and a manufacturing quality that has nothing to envy to some premium models, starting with the Volkswagen ID.4, its technical cousin who is supposed to be hierarchically above within the Volkswagen group.

What are the disadvantages of the LLD offer of the Skoda Enyaq

Limited mileage. If you want to make a daily trip that does not exceed 25 kilometers, plus a few short trips here and there, without going on vacation, you will not have a problem. On the other hand, to make it the car usable in all circumstances, like a real family SUV since that is what it is, it will be far too limited. 30,000 kilometers over 37 months, that represents 810 kilometers per month, or approximately 26 kilometers per day.

If you exceed the number of kilometers prescribed at the time of return of the car, beware of penalties. The penalties depend on the manufacturers, but they are generally between 5 and 10 cents per additional kilometer.
