In March 2019, the young Czech was sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison and fined $ 800. In April, she appealed against the verdict. According to her, the verdict was “contrary to the facts” and was not substantiated by any concrete evidence. According to her lawyer, the court ruled her right a few weeks ago, as a result of which she was acquitted.

Her release today was expected. The foreign ministry announced on Friday that a court in Lahore had issued a written release verdict. Thus, the procedural act necessary for the release of Hlůšková was fulfilled. Already on Friday, Eva Davidová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Hlůšková family did not wish to inform the public about the organization of a trip from Pakistan to the Czech Republic.
