Slovakia is in danger of a hard lockdown. Experts want to tighten measures if another 255 hospitalized – REFRESHER

Slovakia may soon introduce a lockdown as well as neighboring Austria. Tough measures are imminent if the number of hospitalized coronavirus patients reaches 3,200 and the reproductive number of the virus is higher than 1, states TV Awning.

Today, there are almost 3,000 people in hospitals, which means that less than 300 new hospitalized patients will be enough to meet the requirements for a nationwide lockdown.

This is what the experts in the council recommend, but they also have political support. The Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský confirmed that such a development is a real possibility in Slovakia.

The current government has approved new measures that introduce an OTP regime in the workplace as well as restrictions for unvaccinated people. Based on the new restrictions, the government will decide, according to Prime Minister Eduard Heger, whether they have worked and the epidemic situation is improving or the growth of new cases and especially hospitalizations will not be stopped.

“This is a recommendation of the experts from the council, which Prime Minister Eduard Heger always deals with, and if he comes to such a situation, he will react promptly. He can convene a government meeting whenever the situation demands, and as he said at a press conference yesterday, these measures are temporary, which means that they will change depending on the current situation in hospitals. If it is critical, a tightening of measures is not ruled out. “ said the spokeswoman of the Prime Minister Ľubica Janíková.
