Lockdown for the unvaccinated is primarily intended to reduce mobility. Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský said this on the Braňo Závodský program live on Rádio Expres. According to him, the main problem is the fact that Slovaks do not follow the measures that apply.

“I was in two restaurants. COVID did not ask for a passport in either, “The Minister pointed out the insufficient controls and compliance with the measures. He did not rule out that the measures will be tightened even after the end of the lockdown for the unvaccinated, which will take effect on Monday.

“I had a state of emergency resolution ready for the government. We couldn’t declare a lockdown without him. I myself am not for a total lockdown, because the people vaccinated in this way would pay for the decision of those who had a different opinion on the vaccination,“Said the minister.

The limit will be 3,200 people in hospitals. However, whether the lockdown will also depend on whether the number of positive testers will increase, what the incidence and growth curve will be.

Lengvarský confirmed that lung ventilation is only available for white medicine, ie for acute non-avid conditions, such as traffic accidents, injuries and other diseases. The problem is the number of health professionals.

He reminded that after the new one, unvaccinated people will only be able to go to work and only with a negative test. They will also be able to visit basic shops such as groceries, drugstores, pharmacies and petrol stations.

They can go out and travel between districts. Vaccinations also have limitations in worse colors.

The minister also has good news for people who have passed two months since the second dose. “Just come to the vaccination center, where they vaccinate without registration. If half a year has passed since the second dose, they will also receive the third dose under the age of 55. However, I recommend registering, they will not have to wait in line, “Explains the minister.

Interest in vaccination is growing

Last week, 29,000 people were vaccinated with the first dose against COVID-19, compared to only 11,000 a week earlier. The increase in the number of protozoa is therefore obvious. According to the minister, everyone hopes that the pace of vaccination will continue to increase.

The minister also reacted to the criticism of the Minister of Finance Igor Matovič, who claimed that the vaccination campaign was insufficient. Lengvarský explained that they did not want to take the aggressive path they had chosen, for example, in the neighboring Czech Republic.

He added that it is difficult to say whether the aggressive vaccination campaign of the Czechs or rather the suspension of the overpayment of tests is to blame for the better vaccination of the Czechs.

Lengvarsky admitted that he did not consider the campaign “brilliant”, but that it was much more important to take real steps to promote vaccination. This means strengthening the activities of outpatient vaccination teams, increasing the pace of vaccination in social services facilities or close cooperation with local governments in identifying patients at risk.
