VIENNA, BRATISLAVA. Compulsory vaccination in the European Union is only a matter of time. A few days ago, the head of the Czech Medical Chamber, Milan Kubek, told the SME.

Another neighboring country – Austria – is in the same situation. It doesn’t just record the most new cases a day.

The number of hospitalized covid patients with a severe course of the disease is also growing rapidly.

After Friday, it turns out that Austrians will be the first in the Union to be compulsorily vaccinated. This was announced at a press conference by the Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg.

“Despite months of discussion, persuasion and great effort, we have not been able to get enough people to be vaccinated,” the chancellor said.

The head of the Austrian government has previously announced that the lockdown, which applied to the unvaccinated from Monday, November 15, will apply across the board from next Monday.

The latest restrictions will affect everyone, whether they are not vaccinated, after the first dose, or have had a complete vaccination.

Austrians will only be able to go out if they go to work or on purchase necessary goods or in order to practice. Most and all stores will remain closed restaurants.

At the same time, foreign tourists will be banned from entering the country during the lockdown.
