Hard blow, a thousand steps back. Clubs threaten to end the season – PRAVDA.sk

The governing body of the highest Slovak football competition considers the tightening of anti-pandemic measures to be another hard blow to the sport.

The Union of League Clubs (ULK) called their implementation a “thousand steps back”.

On Friday, the ÚLK commented in an official opinion on the current measures and the strict limitation of the number of spectators at sports mass events.

“We are at the beginning, we have not moved anywhere, we have learned nothing and we are repeating old familiar clichés that have been heard many times during the pandemic. Sport is getting another hard blow. Is it recovering?

According to the new measures, which are due to enter into force on Monday, only 200 spectators can be present at the mass event in the Red District in the OP mode (vaccinations and overcoming). It will be 100 people in burgundy and 50 people in black.

The green districts and the orange districts are to be unrestricted for the OP regime. To enter the OTP mode, the capacity limit for red, burgundy and black districts is six people. Basic mode mass events are to be banned for the red, burgundy and black districts.

Hockey clubs: The season is in danger of ending

The Tipos Extraliga hockey clubs are asking the competent authorities to reconsider the tightened anti-pandemic measures.

According to them, they will be liquidation for some participants in the highest hockey competition, and if the restrictions are not compensated, it will also mean the premature end of the season. The Association of Professional Hockey Clubs stated this in an official statement on Friday.

“We are clearly in favor of positive motivation for the people. The government has also promised everyone that vaccination is a win and a freedom. Therefore, we absolutely did not count on restrictions for vaccinated fans, which were approved by the government with effect from November 22.

We regret that while an unlimited number of people can enter the shopping malls in the OP mode, only a minimal number of people who are vaccinated or have passed COVID-19 will get to the hockey stadiums.

Due to the size of the organizational teams and the number of players, it is practically impossible for fans to participate in the stadiums under these conditions, “the Tipos extra league clubs said in a statement on Friday.

The clubs demand that more spectators can watch the matches directly in the stadiums, as is the case in other countries.

“As supporters of positive motivation, we ask the competent authorities to reconsider the measures and, following the example of the surrounding and other European countries, to allow more fans in the OP regime to enter sports events, taking into account the maximum capacity of the stadiums.

It would be a positive motivation for people and at the same time a reward for all those responsible, “the opinion said.
