Murder Willy, defendants in court with mother and young sister killed

(from the correspondent Silvia Mancinelli) – On the one hand Gabriele and Marco Bianchi, in a single security cell, next to them, albeit divided by bars, is Mario Pincarelli. Francesco Belleggia, the only one of the four defendants under house arrest, is as it happened in every hearing sitting in the courtroom. On the other side, the one opposite the cages where the Bianchi brothers exchange a hug first and then knowing glances, sit Lucia and Melania Monteiro, respectively Willy’s mother and sister. Today in the courtroom of the Court of Assize of the court of Frosinone the new hearing of the trial for the murder of the 21-year-old Cape Verdean took place on the night between 5 and 6 September last year. All four defendants were present for examination. They told different versions of the facts, of the blows, of the kicks in the chest, “to the side” specified to the prosecutor Gabriele Bianchi, “to the face” added Francesco Belleggia, suffered by the boy who paid with his life the courage to have tried to Defending a Friend. Lucia and Melania watched with their usual composure, never giving up even though they were the only people accused of the murder. Never a word out of place, not even when they have been seen passing one by one in front of them to leave the classroom and return to the cells. The story they have to hear is at times merciless, were it not for some uncertain and embarrassed attempt to ask for forgiveness by Pincarelli, who made spontaneous declarations, and by Gabriele Bianchi who, he said, as a father too can imagine the pain of losing a child. Sorry, sure, but never admission of guilt by any of them. Rather a rebound of responsibility, one against the other. This too never commented on by the two women, huddled throughout the hearing, Melania with her baby bump finally evident: the only good news in this story that will go on, again at the court of Frosinone, with the examination this time of the defense witnesses : those of Francesco Belleggia and Mario Pincarelli.
