Pensions: Tridico, 102 too rigid, there are better alternatives

The government’s choice to opt for 2022 alone for quota 102 with which to avoid the staircase effect due to the farewell at the end of the year of Quota 100 has ‘displaced’ the president of INPS, Pasquale Tridico. “Honestly, I did not expect a quota of 102, I thought we all understood that the system is already rigid and therefore we needed flexibility. In my opinion there are better alternatives. The rigid quotas for retirement advances are not good”, he explained from the Skytg24 microphones. Rigidity on the other hand, he noted, is already present with the Fornero reform, which provides for 67 years and contribution criteria for access to a pension. “For advances, therefore, compared to the ordinary reform, flexible forms must be envisaged, otherwise they do not grasp the essence of the problem which is to give answers for a possible advance to women with children and to young people with discontinuous careers”. is, he added, “a type of anticipation that in my opinion works well which is the social bee: the legislator provides for a certain category of heavy and tiring jobs, the possibility of early retirement at the expense of general taxation, leaving so ‘the job at 63 with 36 contributions “, he explains again. But for the others, those whose jobs are neither strenuous nor burdensome could fit another flexibility that moves within the contribution system anyway without being the responsibility of general taxation, he explains again. And he relaunches his proposal a few months ago which provided for the possibility of leaving work early, from 64 years of age, with a check temporarily calculated on the contribution part and then ‘paying’ the entire amount, including the salary, once arrived on the date of the old-age pension at the age of 67. “There were therefore better alternatives” he says once again, reiterating that “rigid quotas for pension advances are not good. We must think of women with children to allow them to leave their job 1 or 2 years earlier based on the number of children, and to young people with discontinuous careers making free degree redemptions possible. And all this, within the contribution model, is possible “, he concludes.
