We regularly hear rumors about the electric future of Boxsters and Cayman. But for now, Porsche prefers to offer more and more powerful thermal variants! After the 420 hp Cayman GT4, here is the 500 hp Cayman GT4 RS!

This model takes the naturally aspirated six-cylinder flat of the 911 GT3, which keeps only 10 hp ahead! This block, in a central position and at maximum speed of 9,000 rpm, delivers a torque of 450 Nm (20 Nm more than the GT4). It is fitted with the PDK 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox as standard. The performance gain is notable: it takes 3.4 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km / h, against 3.9 seconds for the GT4 PDK. The maximum speed goes from 302 to 315 km / h.

The increase in power goes with a decrease in weight. Full tank and driverless, the weight is 1,415 kg, down 35 kg compared to the GT4 PDK. Porsche used carbon fiber reinforced polymer for several parts, including the hood and front fenders. The bezel is made of light glass. The brand has also reduced the elements of comfort, with less insulation linings and simple nets for the storage compartments. The chassis has shock absorbers configured specifically for RS models. The engineers have adjusted the firmness of the springs and the stiffness of the stabilizer bars.

As for the look, we can’t miss the new fixed rear spoiler, with gooseneck attachments. It is taken from the 911 RSR, model for GT racing. The aero is particularly neat, with a front diffuser with several levels of adjustment, revised air intakes in front of the front wheels, a streamlined underbody and of course an imposing rear diffuser, with double exhaust outlet.

The brand also offers the Weissach pack. With it, we have visible carbon elements (hood, air intakes, mirrors, spoiler…), titanium exhausts or even a roll bar.

The price of the Cayman GT4 RS is € 144,485. Deliveries will begin in the second quarter of 2022.
