The vast majority of departments are experiencing an epidemic rebound and the situation does not seem to be improving. We take stock of the main indicators.

The incidence rate rising sharply everywhere

The incidence rate exceeded 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in almost all of the territory with the exception of Aube, Mayenne and Vosges.

It is above 100/100 000 inhabitants in 35 metropolitan departments. In Haute-Corse, it is even over 200/100 000 inhabitants.

The situation still under control in hospitals

Another indicator scrutinized by the authorities, the hospital blood pressure. This makes it possible to know the number of beds occupied by patients with Covid-19 in health establishments. Today it is 24.85%, or 10 points more than a week ago.

That is to say that on 10 intensive care unit beds, nearly three of them are occupied by patients suffering from the coronavirus. Here again, the situation is not as dire as it may have been. At the very start of the crisis, in April 2020, this proportion reached over 138%. A year later, during the 3rd wave, this rate climbed to over 118%.

Despite the closure of more than 5,000 beds in the country in 2020, and the still glaring lack of caregivers in our hospitals, the Covid-19 does not cause too much damage. For the time being.

As can be seen, the situation tends to worsen in certain regions, such as Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur, Pays de la Loire and Corsica.

75 dead in one day

As for the death toll, again, the situation appears to be under control. On Monday, November 15, France recorded 75 additional deaths, bringing the total death toll since the start of the pandemic to 118,200. Figures close to the lows we experienced during the summer lows of 2020 and 2021.

At the height of the crisis, France deplored on average up to 530 deaths per day.

Increase in contamination

The contaminations tend to increase significantly. The average number of new confirmed cases daily is 9,440, an increase of more than 37% in the space of 7 days.

Some areas are experiencing strong increases, such as the North, the Bouches-du-Rhône or the Rhône.
