JOJ Sales Director Martin Heržo revealed several details about the new service.

The streaming platform will be available in two forms – as a free ad service and two packages will be available for a fee. However, Heržo stated that the start will not be possible this year, it will be launched at the beginning of next year.

“JOJ Play will bring together all our content and will divide it into three parts – Free, Lite and Premium. In all cases, always with the necessary user registration, “he said, adding that it is for better targeting of advertising. In addition, there will be live broadcasts of JOJ TV stations. Free on a 720p basis.

It is not yet clear how much the subscription will cost. It is currently the subject of discussions. Three versions will be available:

• Free – Free version for registered users for better ad targeting
• Lite – For a small fee, your ad will only play before and after the content
• Premium – completely ad-free

First on JOJ Play, then on TV

JOJ does not consider producing content exclusively for JOJ Play. However, he will first add the selected content to the new platform and only then make it available on TV.

“We will produce things that will always go on a linear platform (regular TV broadcasting, editor’s note),” said Heržo.

He is said to be the first to try this JOJ model with Shopping Maniacs. They first get to JOJ Play and then offer them on TV.

The television wants to offer its own work in the service and there should also be a “video library” section where it will be possible to rent movies – even for a fee. It is said that he is also trying to get movies from the TV broadcast into service.

For different platforms

JOJ Play will be available via the Internet, within hybrid TV, via applications for iOS and Android, and the goal is supposed to get the service into the set-top boxes of operators. Whether he also counts on TV applications, the television has not specified.

“We want to belong to the world of subscription services and we will work with our content on three different levels,” said Heržo.

He wants to better target advertising in the archive

TV JOJ stated that it wants to better target advertising in the TV archive. She has not yet specified whether she will demand a ban on blocking ads in the TV archive, something she would have to agree with the operators. But he wants to bring the audience relevant spots.

“We will look for a way to get to the user experience better – so that the content has clearer content and so that we can target advertising more precisely,” said Heržo. The viewer should thus get primarily to the spots that are intended for him.

Television has also considered a more massive expansion of hybrid TV (HbbTV) this year. In the end, according to his own words, he wants to fully launch it at the start of JOJ Play, through which it will be possible to watch JOJ Play. It is also considering running ads within this service.

JOJka does not yet plan to sell advertising for other paid stations on the market. Rather, it is considering launching its own channels in the coming years. She did not say what it could be.

It will lose Disney content

Television has confirmed that due to scheduled start of the streaming service Disney + in Slovakia will probably lose content from Disney production. But he will try to get at least part of the content subsequently.

“All countries, all televisions will lose Disney content at the moment of Disney + launch. However, I think that there will be agreements even after the launch of this streaming, when Disney will look for a way to enhance the content, “added Heržo.

What movies and series will it offer

TV JOJ will celebrate next year’s 20th anniversary of the start of broadcasting. He will bring new series Procurator, At the Border, Tea, Einstein, Ultimatum and new films Happy New Year 2, Gump, Love at the peaks, Only Teresa, Mothers, Charles or Element, Shampoo, Dot and Charles.

Foreign titles include Ugly Dolls, Mr. Pet, Wanted Yeti, Blink Bill, Viking Vike, How to Get Grandpa Out of the House, 1917, Ad Astra, Le Mans 66, Frost Trap or Terminator: Dark Destiny.
