The last farewell to the Czechoslovak music legend Mir Žbirek, who died on Wednesday (November 10), will take place in the Great Ceremonial Hall of the Strašnice Crematorium in Prague on Friday, November 19 at 2 p.m. PR manager Rado Mešša informed about it. TV Markíza will broadcast it live.

Due to the current pandemic regulations, only invited persons will be allowed to enter the farewell. The public will be able to say goodbye to Mir Žbirek in the area in front of the ceremonial hall, where a condolence book will be placed.

As a sign of respect for the extraordinary personality of cultural and social life, musician, singer and composer will be available from Friday (November 12) in the Hall of the Ministry of Culture on SNP Square in Bratislava condolence book.

People can express their condolences every working day from 09:00 to 18:00 and until next Friday – 19 November.

People in Prague will also be able to express their condolences in connection with the death of the singer, which was confirmed by our embassy for tvnoviny.sk. The book of condolences will be exhibited at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic on Pelléova Street on Friday (November 12) from 09:30 to 12:00 and then from 13:00 to 15:00.

Meky Žbirka died in the hospital and in his sleep. He had been battling recurrent pneumonia for a month. He was vaccinated, he did not have a covid. He still had a lot of plans – concerts, recording new songs. He was 69 years old.
