It is not customary for Škoda to provide such detailed information on its European media pages about a model that is not intended for the European market. After all, in Russia, for example, it sells a modernized Rapid or a specific Octavia, and at the same time you would find it difficult to find out more information. It is similar with its Chinese models, such as the extended Octavia or Kamiq GT. In the case of the Indian models Kushaq and especially Slavia, however, it made an exception. The information about the arrival is dosed with the same intensity as if Slavia had to reach the Europeans. However, this is very unlikely as the model was developed in India for the Indian market and will be produced in India.

Škoda Slavia – official sketches 2021 The interior is clearly inspired by the new Fabia. You can see it on the infotainment, the shape of the dashboard and the circular vents of the ventilation.

Most recently, Škoda provided the first official sketches of Slavia. Not only the exterior but also the interior. It is clear from them that despite the price orientation of this car, built on a cheaper version of the MQB-A-IN platform, Slavia will be an attractive model with all the current features of European Škoda cars. From the typical front mask to the wedge-shaped headlights, the characteristic side prints to the C-shaped split rear lights. Simply, the cheap root will not reveal Slavia so okato. It is similar with the interior, where it is clearly inspired by the new Fabia. There will be a 10-inch touch screen and circular side vents with a colored decorative strip.

Recall that Slavia will be 4,510 long, 1,752 wide and 1,487 mm high. The original Indian Rapid will also surpass the wheelbase with a value of 2,651 mm. Although the body lines evoke a liftback, the Slavia will actually be a three-compartment sedan with a folding rear lid. The equipment will include six airbags and two head and side airbags will be added at an additional cost. Slavia can borrow engines from the already famous Kushaq. The choice will be a supercharged 3-cylinder 1.0 TSI with an output of 85 kW or a more powerful 4-cylinder 1.5 TSI with an output of 110 kW. These are therefore modern units used in the European models of the Volkswagen Group.

Nevertheless, they take into account the specifics of India. For example, the ability to burn gasoline with a lower octane number. 6-speed manual transmissions will be standard. The smaller unit can be combined with a classic 6-speed automatic transmission, and the more powerful with a 7-speed DSG “box”. This model could be to the taste of Europeans. Especially if it costs well below 10,000 euros. It looks more valuable than the original Rapid and Scala, which has taken over its role and has not yet met the carmaker’s expectations. So we will see if in the end Škoda will not change its mind and find a way to offer Slavia in Europe. Finally, in addition to India, it is also going to Russia, Southeast Asia, Latin America or Africa.
