Cresco Award, over 100 projects for the 2021 edition

The sixth edition of the Cresco Award – Sustainable Cities, promoted by the Sodalitas Foundation, was attended by 90 organizations, 40 of which participated for the first time. More than 100 sustainability projects presented, 32 of which by municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants. The contest rewarded the commitment of Italian municipalities for the sustainable development of the territories in line with the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda. “Cresco Award aims to bring the concept of sustainability from businesses to territories – the words of Alessandro Beda, Managing Director of the Sodalitas Foundation – over 800 municipalities have participated in these six editions and once again this year there have been absolute excellence in the various categories. From the small town that with few resources is able to carry out important projects up to the big city like Milan which has created a recognized project of European value. Sodalitas together with the companies that support it wants to help this sustainable development of Italian municipalities. “The prizes, awarded by an independent jury chaired by the Rector of the Milan Polytechnic, Ferruccio Resta, were delivered to the Mayors and Councilors of the winning Municipalities during the event held during the 38th Annual Assembly of the Anci (National Association of Italian Municipalities) at the Parma Fair. Over one hundred projects of Municipalities, Metropolitan Cities, Mountain Communities or Unions of Municipalities from all over Italy were competing. These and the more than 600 projects presented in the course of the six editions can be consulted in the Cresco Library, the online database in which all the projects, organizations and participating companies have been collected. “Thanks to this large bulletin board – commented Beda – a municipality wishing to carry out a project or integrate its knowledge can access these projects divided by topic, a very useful tool to help new sustainability projects or circular economy, and we have already seen that today in the room some mayors and councilors present took note and exchanged ideas on the projects presented “
