Covid today in the USA, infections increase but deaths are falling

Covid in the US, despite the new increase in coronavirus infections, the death toll in the country is decreasing. The weekly average of deaths dropped 11 percent over fourteen days, according to data from the New York Times. The death toll of the past 24 hours, 1,622, is about half the peak of 3,155 recorded on 23 September. The total US victims of Covid is 757,409 dead, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The new infections in the last 24 hours were 79,829, for a total of 46,694,852 since the beginning of the pandemic. On the vaccination front, the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate a total of 194,168,611 people, equal to 58% of the population, fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. The figure rises to 85.7 percent taking into account the population over 65. The people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine are a total of 224.25.467, equal to 67.5 percent of the population. The third dose has been administered so far to 25,368,545 people, equal to 13.1 percent of the population.
