Čekan has poured out his heart on the status of the social network, where he looks with great concern at today’s sad record in the number of new cases. “Today we have over 7,000 PCR positive, almost 9,000 positive, if we take into account PCR and Ag tests together. Almost 2,500 people are hospitalized with a severe course of infection and 53 deaths today, a daily record in the 3rd wave “Unfortunately, the numbers will go up,” predicts the sad future of Chekan.

Either we do nothing or strong measures come

According to Čekan, it is difficult to estimate what will happen in the coming weeks. “There may be a collapse in healthcare, it may only be in some regions or almost everywhere. Everything may be worse than we can imagine today, but also better. It very much depends on what we do as a society in the coming days / weeks and whether our healthcare professionals I pray that they will find enough strength to handle the onslaught of patients, because we are losing the battle against the virus in front of hospitals. ” the scientist acknowledges the harsh reality.

Today, according to him, the situation clearly calls for bold solutions. “Unfortunately, we have found ourselves in a situation where if we want to save a lot of lives, everything is at stake: compulsory vaccinations, strong anti-pandemic measures, lockdowns, etc. Or we will do nothing and disaster, health collapse, humanitarian crisis.” admits the negative Čekan scenario.

Now is the right time

“Now is the time, either to change your decision, to help yourself, your surroundings, Slovakia, or to take full responsibility for it. There is no other way,” he talks about people who could not be vaccinated voluntarily. “I am very sorry for how far we have come. And I apologize to those who are responsible and in solidarity, protecting themselves to have to experience it again and again. I apologize to all the doctors, nurses and paramedics for bringing them back to catastrophic situation, ” concluded.
