A work of art shapes hearing, Amplifon award to 5 experts

It is called ‘Sonority’ and gives shape to an abstract concept such as hearing, the work of art created ad hoc by Luigi Gatti for the ‘Ear Award 2021’, the award promoted by Amplifon’s Research and Studies Center (Crs) on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, which will be assigned during the 38th Siaf National Congress (Italian Society of Audiology and Phoniatrics) to 5 doctors who have distinguished themselves in their work from both a medical-scientific and a social point of view. The winners of the award will be announced this evening during the plenary session of the meeting which opens today at the Lingotto Congress Center in Turin, to close on 13 November. The congress, organized every two years – recalls a note – represents a fundamental point of reference for professionals in the world of audiology and phoniatrics, who for the first time after the start of the pandemic emergency will return to meet in attendance to update themselves and discuss the latest medical and scientific developments in the fields of expertise: from otosurgery to vestibology, from audiology to phoniatrics, up to issues of innovation and evolution such as telemedicine in the ENT field. On the agenda there is also a session dedicated to hearing loss and the benefits associated with the use of hearing aids on quality of life.
