Judge dismisses Trump appeal: ‘Deliver secret documents on Capitol Hill assault’

Donald Trump will no longer be able to use his executive privilege to keep White House documents related to his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election result secret. A federal judge ruled on Tuesday night, rejecting the former’s attempt. president to block access to documents by the Congress Commission which investigates the events of January 6. According to the judge, Trump does not have the authority to block President Joe Biden’s decision, which ordered the material to be handed over to Congress. “Presidents are not kings and plaintiff is not president,” Judge Tanya Chutkan wrote in her order. The former president’s attorneys have announced that they intend to appeal the judge’s decision. The National Archives, where all White House documents are kept, have reported that they intend to deliver the requested material to Congress by Friday afternoon, unless a court decision to the contrary intervenes.
