It’s them! Secret co – owners of Sulík ‘s ranch in Australia – Pluska.sk

“You are not guaranteed to know them,” Economy Minister Richard Sulík said of his co-owners of his ranch in Australia. Just as PLUS 7 DAYS revealed his ranch, we also uncovered co-owners.

The 20-hectare ranch that Sulík plans to use for retirement every winter was bought by the Australian company Indigo floats and trailers Pty Ltd, where Sulík is a third owner. This is evidenced by an extract from the Australian Real Estate Cadastre. So who does the company belong to? It has three owners: one of them is Richard Sulík and the rest belongs to Lucia Galovičová and David William Dobson. Galovičová and Dobson should be the mysterious co-owners of the ranch, whom the minister refused to specify.

In addition to the ranch, Galovičová is connected with Sulík by another company, Kentaur Australia Pty Ltd, which operates a riding equipment store. This company also has three owners, Darina Galovičová also has a third share in it, which according to our findings should be Lucia’s mother.

Hobbies and a pragmatic economist

Who is Lucia Galovicova? Originally a Slovak from Galanta, she moved to Australia when she was 17 years old. As a “hobbyist”, she quickly noticed that there was a hole in the Australian market in the sale of riding equipment and built her business on it, which for years seems to be very successful. According to information on the web and social networks, more than 15 years ago, she founded a company whose vision was to sell premium equestrian brands at decent prices, take care of horses and help fulfill riders’ dreams. Lucia Galovičová did not respond to our calls to Australia and therefore we were unable to find out from her what her relationship with politician Richard Sulík was.

The third owner of the ranch is David William Dobson. According to our information, this is supposed to be a long-term friend, Lucie’s partner. He was one of the top World Cup riders in Australia in the past, nicknamed “Dobbo”. He has been riding horses since he was five years old and after a great riding career he started training. According to a published interview with him in the Australian press, he thinks that times have shifted and riding horses need better management than in the past, when everything was left to say “feelings”. According to the Australian press, he considers his greatest achievement when his young trustees manage to get into the junior categories and later become young World Cup riders. According to the press, his dream was to produce nice horses and find one that would be good enough to take him to Europe or America. He wanted to be part of the production of an Australian team that will compete in the Nations Cup and the World Cup. He seems to know Richard Sulík through his partner Lucia.

Business with horses

But what connects Sulík with two riding and horse fans? We are probably figuring it out … The equestrian shop, which is co-owned by Richard Sulík, also offers horses for sale. They are small weanlings, even several-year-old horses.

Horses published on the website are certainly not among the financially highly rated, responds former Czech race rider Karel Stryja, who runs a pre-career training of young racehorses in Australia. “According to the published photos and the description, the price for one horse can be around two, maybe three thousand euros,” said Sulík’s Australian store. According to him, it is difficult to determine the highest amount, but according to the current offer, it will not be worth any horse above five thousand euros.

So it seems that the animals from Sulík’s ranch do not have the potential of racing champions. In general, however, the trade in racehorses can be a good thing for owners. “It depends on the pedigree, if my father and mother won big races, grandpa and grandma were also successful, the auction starts at 100,000 euros,” says Lukáš Matuský, winner of the Great Pardubice. But as he says, it’s a lottery. “I also experienced people who bought a horse for a hundred thousand and did not win any races for them and did not earn anything,” says Matuský.

Lucia Galovičová, David Dobson and Richard Sulík do not seem to really offer racing stars yet, it is more of a business that they enjoy. However, everything may change in the future, it may also depend on the investments of today’s Minister of Economy Richard Sulík.

We will bring an exclusive interview about the ranch in Australia, directly with Minister Richard Sulík, in PLUS 7 DAYS magazine
