Marine Le Pen’s tribute to de Gaulle disturbed in Bayeux by whistles

POLITICS – A speech to applause and boos. Marine Le Pen, traveling this Tuesday, November 9 in Bayeux on the tracks by De Gaulle, saw his tribute to the former president disturbed by demonstrators against the far right, report several colleagues on the spot.

On this day of the 51st anniversary of the death of General de Gaul, Marine Le Pen went to Bayeux, on the place where the father of the Fifth Republic had himself expressed in June 1944 after the D-Day landings and then in June. 1946 on the future Constitution.

The RN candidate thus avoided her presidential rivals who preferred Colombey-les-deux-Eglises. But she did not escape a counter-demonstration during her speech: alongside the applause, some boos are audible, including in the LCI video shared by the candidate on her own Twitter account.

“I am here because I will always be there against the ideas which develop hatred of the other”, entrusted a representative of the Union syndicale solidaire du Calvados at the microphone of the Norman site. The Free Channel, standing up against “the far-right ideas of these people”.

Other union representatives, including the CGT, were also present, supervised by the police as evidenced by this video broadcast live.

Marine Le Pen pleads for a non-renewable seven-year term, a proportional vote and the extended use of the referendum. The five-year term “transformed the National Assembly into a registration chamber”, she lamented, also regretting “the abandonment of this quality, which Charles de Gaulle wanted, of president-arbiter above the parties” .

Citing the memoirs of De Gaulle, the RN candidate for the 2022 election called for “reconnecting” with the spirit of the “liberator of France”, a liberator that her party has long fought for.
