Xi, says Sisci, “gets a position for life”. ‘He will have to give a historical message’ And the four days of closed-door work in Beijing also lay “the foundations for the power of the cadres that he will promote”, marginalizing ” all those forces that hitherto have hindered its power “. Sisci’s reference is to “the hundreds, perhaps thousands of senior officials promoted by his predecessors Jiang Zemin or Hu Jintao”.
