The pandemic situation is deteriorating faster, it will not be better until Christmas, says the expert – TVNOVINY.sk

The pandemic situation in Slovakia will certainly not improve by Christmas. Matej Mišík, the director of the Institute of Health Analyzes of the Ministry of Health (MZ) of the Slovak Republic, stated that it was deteriorating faster than originally expected by experts.

He pointed out that some hospitals are already reaching their maximum. “We are only in November. Last year, these maximums were reached in February to March,” Mišík added. According to him, how the pandemic will develop in Slovakia depends on how many measures and how the state will take it. Also since the acceleration of vaccination against COVID-19.

However, he expects the increase in positive cases of COVID-19 to continue in the coming weeks. “We know for sure that patients come to hospitals late, after the test. Even if we see a decrease in the number of cases, the number of hospitalized patients will increase for a few more weeks,” Mišík said.
