(Cnn in Spanish) – – Cristina Fernández de Kirchner will undergo a scheduled surgical procedure on Thursday, a source close to the vice president of Argentina in her party informed CNN.

Fernández de Kirchner was captured this Thursday on different local television channels entering the Otamendi sanatorium, located in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires.

So far, there is no official statement reporting the reasons for the hospitalization.

CNN has requested information from the Argentine Presidency, but has not received a response so far.
