Other reports from the government meeting:

• From 20 November of that year, the requirements for the use of personal protective equipment will be specified in Slovakia. This follows from the approved amendment to the Regulation on minimum requirements for the provision and use of personal protective equipment.
• The Government of the Slovak Republic agreed with the accession of the Slovak Republic to the Protocol of 2010 to the International Convention on Liability and Compensation for Damage in the Carriage of Dangerous and Noxious Substances by Sea, 1996. The Protocol is an international treaty of a presidential nature and the approval of the National Council of the Slovak Republic is required before its ratification by the Head of State.
• The process of acquiring professional qualifications for certain health professions should be simplified. This will concern the medical professions of psychologist, speech therapist, medical educator, physicist and laboratory diagnostician.
• The government approved a report on the state of implementation of recommendations from the UN Council. The aim of the national project Healthy Communities is to improve the health situation of the inhabitants of marginalized Roma communities.
• The National Zoo in Bojnice will be able to use EUR 80,000 to complete the quarantine and rehabilitation station for the wild cat., which the government approved in 2018 as a contribution to the reconstruction of aviary buildings for birds of prey. The change in the intended use of the capital transfer on Wednesday was approved by the government.
• The amendment to the Copyright Act introduces new mandatory exceptions to copyright and rights related to copyright. The bill also addresses online services and the creation of a new right holder – the publisher of periodicals. At the same time, it transposes two directives of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union from April 2019 into Slovak law. After approval by the National Council of the Slovak Republic, it could be effective from 1 March 2022.

• Healthcare professionals from abroad could find it easier and faster to apply in the Slovak healthcare system thanks to a shorter period for the recognition of diplomas and the regulation of the verification of state language proficiency. This follows from the amendment to the Act on Healthcare Providers, Healthcare Workers and Professional Organizations in Healthcare, which was approved by the government.

• Temporary incapacity for work is to be confirmed electronically from April next year. From January 2023, the contribution deduction for students and pensioners working on agreement is also to be increased from the current EUR 200 to EUR 300. This follows from the approved draft amendment to the Social Insurance Act.

• The position of the bodies performing the verification of the specified instruments should be equalized. At the same time, the market is to be liberalized by changing the regulation of verification of the types of specified measuring instruments. This follows from the draft amendment to the Metrology Act, which was approved by the government. The market for verification of the types of specified instruments should be liberalized by reducing the number of instruments for which authorization is not granted.

• The Slovakia Operational Program for European Union Funds in the new programming period 2021 to 2027 will have ten intermediate bodies. The aim of the proposal, which was approved by the government on Wednesday with a comment, is to streamline the structure of entities responsible for the implementation of the Slovakia Operational Program in comparison with the 2014 to 2020 programming period.

• Video sharing platforms will be included in the regulatory framework for audiovisual media services. This is brought about by the draft of a new law on media services, which is to replace the existing law on broadcasting and retransmission and the so-called Digital Broadcasting Act. The draft legal regulation submitted by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic was approved by the government.

• The provision of subsidies from the Environmental Fund should be simpler and clearer. This follows from the draft amendment to the Act on the Environmental Fund, which was approved by the government on the proposal of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. The amendment is also intended to establish an electronic mailbox, thanks to which it will be possible to submit electronic applications for subsidies.
