The number of new covid infections in Africa has started to drop significantly, according to data collected by local health authorities. The encouraging trend of the epidemic is recorded even if only 5.5 percent of the population is fully vaccinated. The overall number of cases dropped 26 percent in one week, said John Nkengasong of the African Union health organization. “As a continent we have made a lot of progress, we are not there yet, but we are getting there.
