However, since this internal vote, the party won over 20,000 members. The Republicans then had 79,181 members. This represents a 26% increase in just over a month.

The six candidates in the running are Xavier Bertrand, Valérie Pécresse, Michel Barnier, Éric Ciotti, Philippe Juvin and Denis Payre. On October 15, Xavier Bertrand, who had left the party in 2017, announced to take back his card in order to be able to vote for this congress. He filed Wednesday his sponsorships of elected officials to participate in this congress.
