The public already knows well that energies become more expensive. How did the current situation come from your point of view?
There is no simple explanation. We also have to rely only on available data. The trigger is certainly the erroneous, unintentional and unfinished decision of European politicians within the approved Green Deal, the violent rapid transition to renewable sources, including electromobility, and so on. No one has imagined the consequences of these changes. Historically, every industrial era has always lasted tens to hundreds of years, and it took time for the entire segment to go through a revolution. It is a process that cannot be implemented in 15 to 20 years. The covid entered this challenging process and subsequently we were able to observe the economic recovery. Energy began to be lacking, followed by speculators influencing its price and emission permits. In addition, we have also been cooked by renewable energy. For three to four months, it blew off the coast of the Netherlands, in Britain, and so on, 40 percent less than usual, and energy from wind turbines began to be lacking, with the price rising sharply. In addition, coal-fired power plants gradually began to be shut down, the Germans decided to abandon nuclear power, and the missing energy was therefore produced from natural gas. So gas is also missing from the market and the result is rising in price again.

Duslo consumes a tenth of natural gas in Slovakia. Critics blame Gazprom. Where do you think the problem is?
We can only rely on statistics. The numbers are very clear. Gazprom supplied 15 percent more natural gas to Europe year-on-year. Nevertheless, it is not enough and therefore the result is an increase in prices. According to our data, Gazprom delivers what we have ordered as the Union. The Russian side says that if we order more, it will fulfill the delivery. The United States also waved prices. They send natural gas substitutes to Europe in the form of compressed LNG. This year, however, they sent 15 billion cubic meters less. They have remained market-oriented and redirected these supplies to Asia, where there is also a huge shortage.

Prices flew up and down for these reasons. Do you remember something similar from the past?
We have colleagues here who have been buying energy for forty years and have never experienced that the price would be around 100 euros in the morning when the stock exchange opened, and an hour later 160 euros. In the past, prices fluctuated by a few cents during the day, for example, by a few tenths of euros during the week. Dalo
