Covid-19 in Aveyron: sharp rise in the incidence rate which becomes the highest in France – Midi Libre

The epidemic is resuming in France while the incidence rate has increased by 4.4% in one week. It exceeds the alert threshold (50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) in 42 departments, particularly in Aveyron, which has the highest rate in mainland France.

No respite with Covid-19, indeed incidence rates have been on the rise in recent weeks in many departments.

According to the latest epidemiological point of Public Health France, dated October 21, “the circulation of Covid-19 increased in metropolitan France, with an increase in the incidence rate and a tendency to stabilize national hospital indicators” during the 41e week of the year, from October 11 to 17. This week again, the indicators are on the rise.

At 22 october, 42 departments were above the alert threshold. Aveyron (95.1) displays for the first time since the start of the pandemic the highest incidence rate in mainland France, ahead of Bouches-du-Rhône (93).

1,023 critical care patients

Monday, October 25, there were 6,405 people hospitalized in France for a severe form of Covid-19, or 28 more than Sunday, October 24.

1,023 patients are being cared for in critical care services, a figure up 5 from the previous day. 42 deaths in recent days were recorded on Monday in hospitals, and two in nursing homes.

As recalled, however, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, we are far from the figures of contaminations and hospitalizations of autumn 2020. But the health authorities are on their guard. If the vaccination campaign made it possible to avoid repeating the scenario, the success of the current booster campaign will be decisive in order to pass the winter without incident.
